Creating a disruptive social platform to help users get curated, expert information, and share experiences with others that share the same health and lifestyle challenges. Based in Toronto and looking to launch in September 2021, we will work to actively scale this across North America.

 

Lead Developer

Looking for a passionate, dynamic and dedicated candidate to lead the Development Team, that also has plenty of experience in building scalable and secure applications.

Based in Toronto, work will be done remote for now. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the Dev team

• Work with the Dev team to ensure tasks/features are implemented according to business requirements

• Work through current business requirements with team to create technical requirements

• Ensure the application is scalable and secure

• Produce high quality, optimized code that is reliable and maintainable

• Regularly review code from other developers on the team

• Work with Jest to implement reliable unit tests

• Help manage Product development

• Communicate clearly and effectively with all members of our team

 

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in creating scalable and secure mobile/web applications

• 4+ years of professional experience in a software development role

• Experience in leading a development team

• Comprehensive knowledge of React/React Native, Redux

• Experience using Typescript, Firebase, MongoDB

• Strong understanding of APIs, database architecture, design patterns, optimization, caching, security, and scalability

• Fundamental knowledge of core web principals (HTTP, the DOM, SSL, web servers)

• Past experience with using software development tools and methods (source control, unit testing, bug tracking, continuous integration, etc.)

• Experience with the Agile methodology

• Great interpersonal skills. Strong proficiency and communication skills in verbal and written English.

• Proactive personality, and a desire to deliver your best work

• A love for improving software development workflows/process

• Experience in native mobile development an asset (Swift, Java/Kotlin)

• Experience with AI/ML an asset
